Endoscopic Surgery training
Endoscopic surgery (also known as minimally invasive operation technique) is gaining global recognition and today forty percent of all operations in specialised
practices and clinics are performed using this method. The advantages for the patient are obvious: minimal-invasive operations entail a stay in hospital of only a few hours. Endoscopy not only saves vital tissues, but accelerates wound-healing and is also less painful. Since much of the organ is maintained there are only minor or no after-effects of the surgery.
A distinguishing feature of operative endoscopy is the
abandonment of the classic scalpel. In its place laser and ultrasound techniques are employed. The use of an endoscope facilitates operating on parts of the body that previously were difficult to access.
Additionally, the operation is always recorded on video,
further ensuring the patients’ security and exact control of the operational proceedings by the surgeon. At the mednord Clinic only advanced technologies, such as the integrated
OP “OR 1” (made by the worldwide leading medical-technology company Karl Storz), are used. These technologies are valued highly and are appreciated by the specialists and family doctors that recommend our clinic. They are convinced to do the best possible for their patients by admitting them to the mednord Clinic Dr. Pfuetzenreuter.
The integrated OP “OR 1” offers maximum ergonomics and allows the surgeon to
concentrate solely on the patient.
Head of the Gynaecological Surgery department in the mednord Clinic is noted specialist Dr. Norbert Pfuetzenreuter. Having performed more than 20,000 endoscopic operations, he is one of the most experienced endoscopic doctors in Germany. Dr. Pfützenreuter is supported in gynaecological surgery by his colleague Dr. Martin Kurz.
